IMAN Leadership Academy Weekend Starts with Kickoff Event Featuring Dalia Mogahed

The IMAN Leadership Academy (IMAN LA) launched with its Kickoff Event, where members of the inaugural cohort had the opportunity to connect with one another, introduce themselves to the community, and celebrate the beginning of their leadership development with IMAN. Cohort members were also able to invite their family and friends to join in celebrating with them.

The evening featured keynote speaker Dalia Mogahed, a scholar, national advocate for Muslim communities, and former Director of Research at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU). Her 2016 TED Talk, “What It’s Like to be a Muslim in America,” was among the most-viewed TED Talks of the year. During her remarks, Mogahed discussed the role of the Muslim community in America’s political landscape, encouraging Muslims to engage civically, advocate for themselves, and work toward positive change within their communities.

The evening concluded with cohort members sharing their excitement and anticipation for the first day of training. Our team was truly inspired by the incredible turnout and support from the community. We are deeply grateful for everyone who came together to celebrate and uplift the next generation of Muslim leaders in Indiana.
